A Summa cum Laude graduate of Virginia Tech, Dr. Christie received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Continuing his education, he received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency and his Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He also completed Post-doctoral Fellowships at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Oncology Center in Baltimore, Maryland, the Fred Hutchison Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington and the Lombardi Cancer Center, Georgetown University Medical Center. He is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Christie served four years in the United States Army, where he was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and served as Chief of Hematology/Oncology Services and Director of the Autologous Stem Cell Transplant Program.
Dr. Christie has authored several publications and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians.
Born in Seville, Spain, Dr. Christie is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.
